Modern Gothic Bathroom & Kitchen

I love, love, love Phoenix Phaerie's Creations . For many Sims homes I use her Manor House Washroom and Kitchen sets. I also tend to like to use pieces from the Manor House Kitchen set in that bathroom - ok, maybe you think thats odd -however, the counters and cabinets work beautifully in the bathrooms as well. Sometimes you need to get a little creative using the move_objects on and boolprop snapobjectstogrid true cheats along with a little help from the tv placement mod from Mod The Sims, some invisible OMSP's it works out beautifully. Then there came the need for black fixture's and cabinets - which is where my recolor comes into play. I'm calling my recolor Modern Goth, but i'm really not sure Modern Goth is the correct description, maybe sophisticated goth? Well whatever it is, I like how it all turned out. I hope you do too! Don't forget to download Phoenix Phaerie's meshes if you don't already have them (and you should, because they are beautiful!!) There is one mesh included in the file - Jope's (Simply Styling)'s Hob Deco Mesh, which I recolored in a black & white honeycomb style for kitchen back splash. The walls & floors are all in separate sips - the dark blue wall I used for the kitchen is in the Modern Gothic Walls & Floors rar file, it's called "Black Blue Paint" - I got this idea from a photo I saw on Pinterest of a beautiful gothic kitchen. In the pictures below you can also see all the additional walls & floors included in the files.

Dining Room Mix & Match Recolors

Was working on a new house recently, and when I got to furnishing the dining room, I couldn't decide on one particular set, I liked a little from one set, a little from another. So I recolored what I needed from each set to make them all match up nicely.

The first set I started with was the Marazan Dining Room Set by Reflex Sims. I love using this set, because the tables easily connect without the use of the boolprop cheat to make a larger table. I recolored the whole set black - including the table glass to give it a solid wood look - however I felt the table came out a bit too dark, which is why I also recolored Reflex Sims Ferro Dining Room Set (i'll get to that in a minute). But I liked how the chairs came out - the cushions are black and the framing is silver. So for my particular use, the chairs were perfect for the head & foot of the table. In the download I did include both the chair & table recolor. Just remember to pop over to Reflex Sims to download the Marazan Dining Room Meshes (category downloads/dining rooms/page 1).

As I mentioned above I wasn't satisfied with the Marazan table results, so I recolored the Ferro Set - another Reflex Sims Set I use often in my Sims 2 dining rooms. This recolor has a grayish/black appearance, which I liked much better - it can easily fit into multiple style categories - goth, modern, contemporary (maybe???). The pieces I recolored include the table, chandelier, chair, & sideboard. Again, you'll need to download Reflex Sim's Ferro Dining Room meshes (category downloads/dining rooms/page 2). In my pictures I put multiple tables together & the Marazan Chairs are centered on the head and foot of the table - to do this, i used the cheats move_objects on and boolprop snapobjectstogrid false.

The last part of this set is a sideboard and a hutch/display cabinet. I love Eliza-37Sims Emile Set, and so I recolored her sideboard & display cabinet black for this purpose. You will need to download her Meshes for my recolors to work, you can download them from here: Emile Dining Room.

~ Voodoo ~ Dining Room

The next part of the Voodoo Set is the Dining Room. Currently its the last completed portion of this enormous set. I am currently in the middle of working on more decorative items for the set, but I have plans for a library and some additional rooms.

For the Voodoo Dining Room, I recolored Vita Sim's Victorian Dining Room Set. You will need to download Vita Sim's meshes for my set to work in your game. You can either get it directly from their website or from Paysites Must Be Destroyed.

Included in set: dining table, arm chair, dining chair, bar, bar stools, bar stuff(cabinet), candle, chandelier, buffet(china cabinet), curtains, side board, buffet & end table.

Note: To make an ultra long time the way I have in the photos, use cheat codes move_objects on & boolprop snapobjectstogrid false and carefully move them together until they appear even on all sides.

~ Voodoo ~ Kitchen

The Voodoo Kitchen is another fairly large set. For the most part, I worked with Vita Sim's Kitchen Marina to make this set. You will need to get their meshes - which are available at their site: Vita Sims or you can get it from Paysites Must Be Destroyed. I recolored the cabinets, fridge, & stove vent. I also added an island (there is no island with Vita Sim's Kitchen Marina), for it, I used the Maxis "Country Fried Island" which requires seasons. I also added in some additional appliances - a "kitchenaid" dishwasher and "Kitchenaid" trashcompactor - the dishwasher requires Freetime and the Trash Compactor is base game compatible. There's also a mini fridge & wine fridge both require University. Also included is backsplash that matches the countertops, the mesh is by Jope from Simply Styling (mesh is included), 3 new walls, and 2 floors.

Note: Sink & Barstools in some of the pictures are not included in the set. I'm not exactly sure where I got the kitchen, the description in the file says "Part of a kitchen set made by Chrissy1 and AngelanvEliza @Reflexsimsforum", I'm pretty sure I downloaded it from the Black Pearl Sims Forum, the bar stools are made by ShinoKCR, from her Pottery Barn Bar Set.

Additional notes: to make the island appear wider, I used the cheat "move_objects on" and "boolprop snapobjectstgrid false" and I placed them really close together, because of the style of the counter top, it appears to blend together really well. Originally I made for this set an "upright freezer" and a "kitchenaid" 6 burner range, however I didn't like how the graphics came out, so I did not include them. When I have a chance to fix them, I'll upload it.
