The Walking Dead Bedroom Project....

Wasn't planning to have something ready for another few weeks but I started working on building "My House" (and I say that with quotes because its more or less my house, if I had an extra $250,000 lying around to fully renovate to the caliber I'm designing it as in the game) and I asked each of my children what theme they'd like for their bedrooms. My 11 1/2 year old son requested his absolute favorite TV show (and one of my favorites too), The Walking Dead.

There's really no TWD themed custom creations anywhere on the web for The Sims 2 so I got to work. I've come up with a bedding set, some curtains, some rugs, and a few posters that seem appropriate for a pre-teen boys bedroom without going overboard. Now my son still hasn't seen what I made, I've decided to surprise him when he gets home from school this afternoon - so you guys are all getting first peek :)

The hardest part of this set was getting the bedding texture right. Took me two tries but I'm satisfied with the results.

One a double bed the pattern kind of repeats itself but I actually think thats kind of cool in a way so I left it alone.

Closeup of the pillows:

There's three rugs in total in this set - The walker "Hannah" rug above as well as the "Don't Open, Dead Inside" require the H&M Fashion Stuff Pack and the "The Walking Dead" mat requires Family Fun Stuff.

The Curtain's - you'll need Avalon Sims' 2 Jia Curtain Meshes for these, which I have included in the RAR file.

The Walking Dead poster & the Crossbow Poster require University and the Prints of Terminus & Woodbury require Nightlife. Also included in this set is my black recolors of the Patchwork Desk (Teen Style Stuff) and the Hemnes 3 Drawer Dresser(Ikea Home Stuff). To achieve the look of a triple dresses, use the cheat codes (ctrl+shift+c) "boolprop snapobjectstogrid false" and "move_objects on".

There's also a Collection File & Icon included.

The table lamps in this file are from the Alexis Neo Classic Bedroom Set by Ea Sims - you can find it at the Sims Cave, here: http://simscave.mustbedestroyed.org/index.php?topic=6255.0, the wood blinds are from Caravan Sim's Louisiana Set, you can find it here: http://simscave.mustbedestroyed.org/index.php?topic=21210.0, the Windows & doors are by Phoenix Phaerie, you can find them here: http://modthesims.info/member.php?u=295417 (her Modern Georgian Set), the floor I made you can find it in my yahoo group: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TheSims2FanaticsCommunity/files/Rougue/Walls%20and%20Floors/ (my mudd room floor), the rest of the items not listed are directly from TS2 and are included in the collection file.

Game of Thrones: Harrenhal Build Set....kinda, sorta

Huh? Confused? lol......well what was meant to be the Harrenhal Build Set I think might be better described as the Dark Stone set because (to me anyway) it doesn't accurately resemble what I believe to be what Harrenhal. And it also seems to have no end either - just when I think I'm done, as I'm testing one thing I look and think "I need to make a matching staircase" or "i need to make a matching fence", so what was originally just going to be a couple of walls, windows, & floors became a much bigger project. I'm not even quite sure I'm done with it just yet, but I'm hoping it is at least "mostly" done because I want to take a little break from the Medieval and go back to modern times - at least temporarily.

Originally the start of the Harrenhal Set was a freak accident - I recolored a window from Olemantiker's Fairybulosa Set darker then I intended to. But I liked the results and decided to add to it eventually (which finally happened). So for the first part of this set is the remaining pieces of Olemantiker's Fairybulosa Set that I recolored. (don't forget to visit http://beosboxboy.blogspot.com/ to download the the meshes listed under "Build Sets")

Pieces in the set include: 4 windows, 4 door arches, chain link fence, curved staircase & column.

Now there's also the dark stone walls, floor, and of course stone modular stairs.

Download them here:

stone modular stairs: https://app.box.com/s/db1mueu9uskk8c6ytm87
Modular Stairs are a recolor of Numenor's Recolorable Deck Stairs, mesh & use info inside of RAR file.

Once all this was done, I realized it needed a tall stone fence & a stone garden border.....

These are recolors of the Short Mortar & the Faux Castle Wall.

When I was testing these items I was converting a modern community lot into a Medieval lot and realized I needed a few Medieval Recreational Items & a wooden floor to match the dark stone theme

Download the Mahjong's & Don't Wake the Llama Game tables: https://app.box.com/s/1s3g1anogfkzmo9mb5dk

And a not so perfect mirror:

This is a recolor of the Kepler's Celestial Mirror (Family Fun Stuff) - download here: https://app.box.com/s/4wcms7uwuh8rhv7xbyo2

At some point I realized I didn't have enough dark stone windows & doors, and Wood For Sim's Winery Build Set seemed a perfect match to the theme, and so they were the next on my recoloring list. You'll need meshes for these - go here to grab them: http://www.woodforsims.de/html/them_wfs2_rustic.html or here: http://svt.paysites.mustbedestroyed.org:8080/booty/ts2/wood_for_sims/

And the final part of this set (as far as I can tell right now - in two weeks, who knows I might realize "need more.....") is the roof. Well not just one roof, but several. Started with recoloring the "a bit steep roofing", then I stumbled upon a similar recreation of the "a bit steep roofing" from Patchwork Sims, and recolored that to match, and finally recolor the regular Sims roof in that same dark stone.

Hope you like this set. As of right now I'm saying that I am taking a break from the Medieval Theme, I'll likely be back to it once the new seasons of Game of Thrones starts or may be back sooner. Here's some additional pictures of the Dark Stone Themed items:
