For a long time I've been wanting to create a Sims version of that infamous house located at 112 Ocean Avenue (btw the address has actually been changed to 108 Ocean Ave - to try to throw off tourists). I finally figured out (after reading tutorials of course) how to play around with the roof angle and was able to create a Dutch Colonial type of roof style. And what I came up with for my Amityville House isn't an exact replica - I accidentally made mine too big - I added 4 dormers instead of just 3, and grounds aren't quite the same. The actual Amityville House also no longer has those iconic crescent moon windows, they have been replaced with rectangular windows. However I always preferred the crescent moon windows and used them instead. Because of my changes, rather then calling it the "Amityville Horror House" I decided to simply call it the "Dutch Colonial Mansion".
I have to warn you, this house is HUGE - its 42 1/2 megabites. Aside from the kitchen & bathrooms & boiler room, I left it unfurnished. The price tag on this property is $229,979 Simoleons. Though they are included in the lot, I suggest you download Hugelunatic's recolorable modular stairs, as well as Numenor's recolorable modular stairs (the deck stairs, wooden modular stairs,chic stairs are what you'll need), I also recommend you download Hugelunatic's Colonial Fireplace, as well as CTNutmegger's Early American Colonial Fireplace - these items all contain special text documents which you'll need to add to your Scriptorium or the script documents in your" C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts" folder in order for any of them to work properly.

You'll notice that every bedroom has its own closet, I used fake doors on the closet, but you can easily switch them out with real doors to make them actual working closets. There's a space over the garage that I didn't do anything with, you can easily add a staircase or ladder and make it usable space, its just big enough for a storage room or a small guest room. I tried to keep everything "classic" but not outdated in this house. The boiler room contains an oil tank - because more then likely the real Amityville house has oil heating - most of Suffolk County Long Island uses either Oil Heat or Propane - few neighborhoods actually have natural gas. The basement is large, and for the most part "unfinished", aside from a large laundry room. Outside there's a large inground pool, and a large gazebo, as well as a spacious back deck, five bathrooms, 2 sun rooms, a fireplace in the living room and one in the master bedroom, 6 bedrooms (4 on the second story, 2 in the attic), full formal dining room, large eat in kitchen, a dumbwaiter in the kitchen, lots of windows, french doors leading from the living room to the sun room, as well as french doors leading from the dining room to the second sun room. The grounds are well manicured, but since they are extensive, might I suggest you invest in either a ride on lawnmower, or better yet, hire a gardener.
