Residence of the Former Neighborhood Mayor

No not the real mayor, but this guy knew everything that was going on in the local area and was a show off, so I dubbed him "the mayor". What happens when you're a huge show off but not enough money? You borrow and borrow and borrow against your own house, can't pay it back and lose it all. Now the house is empty, falling apart, the property is a big weedy mess. I've only ever seen the inside of this house once, almost 10 years ago, it was a mess then, the owners were attempting to renovate it and converted a garage into a small apartment as well. I'm basing the inside of this house off of memory plus what my kids whom were friends with the former Mayor's kids have told me (and after I completed my Sim's version, as bad as it is, my kids told me it looks better than the real thing).

The main floor of the main part of the house consists of a narrow entry way which leads to the living room, on the right side of the living room is the dining room with a small wood burning stove, which is what was used to heat the entire house, to the left of the dining room is a small kitchen. There's also a tiny powder room off the living room. There was a giant fish tank which is what separate the living room from the kitchen (but I left it out of my design). The upstairs of the main house has 3 small bedrooms and 1 full bath, plus access to the attic. There's also basement access on the main floor.

The converted garage consists of a single bedroom, bath, small living room, kitchen and ladder to a small attic.

The yard has two separate driveways, one directly in front of the converted garage, and the other at the front of the house. The actual yard is a disaster area - I done my best to represent all the weeds and the trees which are literally about to fall down into my own yard, plus an odd cement patio in the center of the yard, an odd wood based structure which used to surround a pool which was taken out several years ago, and in place of the pool, a make shift firepit was placed. What I left out was all the garbage all over the yard - there's at least a dozen empty propane tanks, beer bottles, food garbage, a falling down purple shed with a giant cowbell & spot light on top, a rusty old 275 gallon oil tank right outside the back door, the giant chemical drums left over from one of this guys many fly by night career changes, dozens of flat rusty old car & truck tired, a rotten half fallen out of the tree treehouse, the back side of the fence completely broken, about 6 broken coolers, broken outdoor lights, 10 or 15 broken deck chairs and several rusty & broken tables and the 2 rusted out cars & 2 trailers & all the old landscaping equipment in that sectioned off section of yard at the far end. Imagine living next to that? And it likely will never be sold since there is two hefty liens on the property both of which outweigh the value of the house - not even a flipped will purchase it, unless by some small chance the liens are forgiven.

Anywho, here is the house....how would you renovate it?
